জাতির পিতার আদর্শে দেশ গড়ার আহ্বান ডেপুুটি স্পিকারের

    জাতীয় সংসদের ডেপুটি স্পিকার মোঃ ফজলে রাব্বী মিয়া ১৫ আগস্টের শোককে শক্তিতে পরিণত করে জাতির পিতার আদর্শে ও মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনায় দেশ গড়তে সকল মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তানদের একযোগে কাজ করার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন। 

    ডেপুটি স্পিকার আজ ঢাকায় জাতীয় সংসদভবন সংলগ্ন মানিক মিয়া এভিনিউয়ে ‘আমরা মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তান’ কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি আয়োজিত এক আলোর মিছিলে প্রধান বক্তার বক্তৃতাকালে এ আহ্বান জানান। 

    ডেপুটি স্পিকার বলেন, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান বাঙালি জাতির অবিসংবাদিত নেতা। ১৯৭৫ সালের ১৫ আগস্ট বঙ্গবন্ধু ভবনে গিয়ে ঘাতকের ট্যাঙ্ক জাতির পিতাকে সপরিবারে হত্যা করে বাঙালি জাতিকে অন্ধকারে নিমজ্জিত করে। যে পথে ঘাতকের ট্যাঙ্ক গিয়ে জাতির পিতাকে হত্যা করে জাতিকে অন্ধকারে নিমজ্জিত করেছে সে পথে মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তানরা আলো জ্বালিয়ে সমগ্র বাংলাদেশকে আলোকিত করেছে। মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তানদের জাতির পিতার প্রতি এ শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন এবং তাদের হৃদয়ে বঙ্গবন্ধু ও বাংলাদেশকে ধারণ ও লালন করার প্রত্যয় জাতির কাছে অনুসরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে। 

    অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যান্যের মধ্যে গণতন্ত্রী পার্টির সাধারণ সম্পাদক ডাঃ শাহাদাত হোসেন, মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সংসদ কেন্দ্রীয় কমান্ড কাউন্সিলের ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান ইসমত কাদির গামা, ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট মিজান রহমান ও মহাসচিব এমদাদ হোসেন মতিন, সেক্টর কমান্ডার্স ফোরামের ভারপ্রাপ্ত সাধারণ সম্পাদক ম হামিদ, ওয়ার্ল্ড ইউনিভার্সিটির ভিসি অধ্যাপক  ড. আব্দুল মান্নান চৌধুরী, ঢাকা সাংবাদিক ইউনিয়নের সাবেক সভাপতি ওমর ফারুক, সম্মিলিত সাংস্কৃতিক জোটের সভাপতি গোলাম কুদ্দুস এবং মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনা বাস্তবায়ন মঞ্চের সাধারণ সম্পাদক আব্দুল মালেক মিয়া বক্তব্য রাখেন।

মহিলা ও শিশু বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের কর্মসূচি
হতদরিদ্র নারীদের দারিদ্র্য থেকে বের করতে ডিজিটাল ক্যাশ ট্রান্সফার প্রোগ্রামের উদ্বোধন

    আজ সিরাজগঞ্জের বেলকুচি উপজেলার রাজাপুর হাইস্কুল মাঠে হতদরিদ্র নারীদের মাঝে এশিয়া ব্যাংকের সহায়তায় ডিজিটাল পদ্ধতিতে ক্যাশ ট্রান্সফার কার্যক্রমের উদ্বোধন করেন মহিলা ও শিশু বিষয়ক প্রতিমন্ত্রী মেহের আফরোজ চুমকি। 
    ভালনারেবল গ্রুপ ডেভেলপমেন্ট (ভিজিডি) উপকারভোগীদের দারিদ্র্যের চক্র থেকে বের করতে মহিলা ও শিশু বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয় নতুন একটি প্রকল্প শুরু করেছে। ডিজিটাল ক্যাশ ট্রান্সফারের মাধ্যমে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করা হলো। প্রকল্পটি ওয়ার্ল্ড ফুড অর্গানাইজেশন ও বাংলাদেশ সরকার যৌথভাবে বাস্তবায়ন করছে। এ প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে ভিজিডি উপকারভোগী হতদরিদ্র নারীদেরকে এককালীন ১৫ হাজার টাকা করে প্রদান করা হচ্ছে এবং তাদেরকে প্রশিক্ষণের ব্যবস্থা  নেয়া হবে, যাতে করে তারা এ অর্থ কাজে লাগিয়ে তাদের আয় বৃদ্ধি করতে পারে এবং দরিদ্র অবস্থা থকে বের হয়ে আসতে পারে। প্রথম বছর ২১টি উপজেলায় এ কার্যক্রম পরীক্ষামূলকভাবে চালানো হবে। পরবর্তীতে এ কার্যক্রম সারাদেশে সম্প্রসারণের উদ্যোগ নেয়া হবে।
    প্রাথমিকভাবে ২১টি উপজেলায় ২১ হাজার ভিজিডি উপকারভোগী হতদরিদ্র নারী এককালীন ১৫ হাজার টাকা করে এবং প্রতি মাসে ৩০ কেজি পুষ্টি চাল পাবে। এ পুুষ্টি চালের মধ্যে ৩টি ভিটামিন এবং ৩টি মিনারেল থাকবে।
    জেলা প্রশাসক মোঃ বিল্লাল হোসেনের সভাপতিত্বে উদ্বোধনীতে অন্যান্যের মধ্যে সংসদ সদস্য আলহাজ আব্দুল মজিদ মন্ডল, মহিলা বিষয়ক অধিদপ্তরের মহাপরিচালক শাহিন আহমেদ চৌধুরী, মহিলা ও শিশু বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব বিকাশ কিশোর দাস, ওয়ার্ল্ড ফুড অর্গানাইজেশনের প্রতিনিধি ক্রিসটিনা রেডার এবং ডিএফআইডি বাংলাদেশের প্রতিনিধি গ্রেহাম গেছ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।   
    প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেন, দেশের অর্ধেক জনগোষ্ঠী নারীদের দরিদ্র রেখে দেশকে মধ্যআয়ের দেশে পরিণত করা যাবে না। তাই প্রধানমন্ত্রী নারীদের জন্য বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প চালু করেছেন। তিনি বলেন, সরকার নারীদের শুধু খাদ্য সহায়তা দিয়েই দায়িত্ব পালন করতে চায় না বরং তাদের দারিদ্র্য থেকে বের করে আনতে চায়। তাই সরকার তাদেরকে এককালীন টাকা প্রদানের মাধ্যমে দারিদ্র্যের স্থায়ী সমাধান করতে চায়।

বঙ্গবন্ধু স্মরণে ‘চিত্রগাঁথায় শোকগাথা’ আলোকচিত্র প্রদর্শনী পরিদর্শন করলেন স্পিকার

জাতীয় সংসদের স্পিকার ড. শিরীন শারমিন চৌধুরী আজ জাতীয় সংসদের দক্ষিণ প্লাজায় জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের ৪০তম শাহাদতবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি করপোরেশন আয়োজিত “চিত্রগাঁথায় শোকগাথা” শীর্ষক আলোকচিত্র প্রদর্শনী পরিদর্শন করেন।  

এসময় ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি করপোরেশনের মেয়র আনিসুল হক এবং জাতীয় সংসদ সচিবালয়ের সিনিয়র সচিব মোঃ আশরাফুল মকবুল উপস্থিত ছিলেন। 

স্পিকার প্রদর্শনীর বিভিন্ন বিভাগ ঘুরে দেখেন। 

প্রদর্শনীতে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ  মুজিবুর রহমানের বর্ণাঢ্য রাজনীতি ও কর্মজীবনের বিরল অনেক ছবি, নিজ হাতের লেখা অনেক পত্র এবং ১৯৭৫ এর ১৫ আগস্টে বঙ্গবন্ধু হত্যাকা-ের অনেক ছবি স্থান পেয়েছে। প্রদর্শনীটি ১৫ আগস্ট রাত ১০টা পর্যন্ত চলবে।

১৫ আগস্ট দেশের শিক্ষাব্যবস্থাকেও হত্যা করা হয়েছিল

ঢাকা, ৩০ শ্রাবণ (১৪ আগস্ট) : 

    বেসামরিক বিমান পরিবহণ ও পর্যটন মন্ত্রী রাশেদ খান মেনন বলেছেন, ১৫ আগস্ট কেবল বঙ্গবন্ধুকেই হত্যা করা হয়নি, এ দেশের শিক্ষাব্যবস্থাকেও হত্যা করা হয়েছিল। বঙ্গবন্ধু  তাঁর সাড়ে তিন বছরের শাসনামলে কুদরত-ই-খুদা শিক্ষা কমিশন গঠন করেছিলেন এবং প্রাথমিক শিক্ষাকেও জাতীয়করণ  করেছিলেন। বঙ্গবন্ধুকে হত্যার পর কুদরত-ই-খুদা শিক্ষা কমিশনকে আলোর মুখ দেখতে দেয়া  হয়নি। অন্যদিকে প্রাথমিক শিক্ষাকে বেসরকারিকরণ ও শিক্ষকদের বেতন নি¤œপর্যায়ে রেখে দেয়া হয়েছিল।

    মন্ত্রী আজ ঢাকায় মুক্তিভবন মিলনায়তনে বাংলাদেশ প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় সহকারী শিক্ষক সমিতি আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তৃতায় একথা বলেন।

    মন্ত্রী বলেন, ২০০৯ সালে সরকার গঠনের পর  প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা জাতীয় শিক্ষানীতি প্রণয়ন ও বাস্তবায়ন শুরু করেছেন। ২৬ হাজার বেসরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় জাতীয়করণ করা হয়েছে। তিনি দেশের শিক্ষাব্যবস্থাকে সার্বজনীন ও শিক্ষার মানোন্নয়নে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের অবদান তুলে ধরে বলেন, শিক্ষা বিস্তারে বাংলাদেশ এশিয়ার রোলমডেল হিসেবে  পরিচিতি পেয়েছে।

    অনুষ্ঠানে দেশের বিভিন্ন এলাকার শিক্ষক প্রতিনিধিগণ অংশ নেন।

President's Message on the National Mourning Day

Dhaka, August 14 : 

            President Md. Abdul Humid has given the following message on the National Mourning Day:

            "August 15 is our National Mourning Day. Today is the 40^th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On this day in 1975, the greatest Bangalee of all time and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with his wife, sons, daughters-in-law and near and dear ones embraced martyrdom. Today, I pay my profound homage with heavy heart to them. I pray to Almighty Allah for the salvation of the departed souls on this Mourning Day.

            The 15^th August 1975 is regarded as a heart-rending and disgraceful chapter in the history of the Bangalee nation as well as the path of our democratic advancement. On this day the undisputed leader and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was brutally assassinated at his Dhanmandi residence by a group of killers with the connivance of anti-liberation forces. His wife Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib, sons Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Jamal and Sheikh Russel, daughters-in-law Sultana Kamal and Rosy Jamal, brother Sheikh Naser, farmers’ leader Abdur Rab Serniabat, youth leader Sheikh Fazlul Haq Moni and his wife Arzu Moni, Baby Serniabat, Sukanta Babu, Arif and Abdul Nayeem Khan Rintu were also assassinated along with Bangabandhu. This brutality was a rare occurrence not only in the history of the Bangalee nation but also in the history of the world. The aims of the killers were not merely to kill a Statesman but to annihilate the ideals of the War of Liberation and reinstate the defeated forces.

            The contribution of Bangabandhu is of paramount and ceaseless in attaining our independence and struggle for independence. Under his able and courageous leadership, the Bangalee nation achieved a long-awaited independence. This great leader always nourished in his thinking for Bangla, Bangalee and Bangladesh. He was the dreamer of the Bangalee Nation and an ardent proponent of Bangalee nationalism. Starting from the historic Language Movement in 1952, Bangabandhu led the nation at every struggle and movement including the Jukta-Front Election in '54, movement against Martial Law in '58, Six-Point Movement in `66, Mass Upsurge in '69 and the General Elections in 1970 which all were directed for attaining the right to self-determination and emancipation of the Bangalees. He, therefore, had to go to jail for several times and had to face inhuman sufferings. Despite various challenges, he did never compromise on the question of the rights of our people. Overcoming various ups and downs, the great leader finally declared country’s independence on March 26 in 1971. Responding to his clarion call, the countrymen from all strata participated in the War of Liberation in 1971 and achieved ultimate victory on December 16, 1971 through a nine-month long armed struggle. For his extraordinary contributions towards achieving Independence, Bangabandhu and Bangladesh has emerged as a unique symbol to the people of Bangladesh. The assassins though kill the Father of the Nation yet they could not wipe out the principle and belief of Bangabandhu. I am confident that the name and fame of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will remain ever shining in the mind of millions of Bangalees so long as the country and its people will stay alive.  

            Bangabandhu cherished a dream of transforming Bangladesh into a ‘Sonar Bangla’ (Golden Bengal) throughout his life. Therefore, it is our utmost responsibility to build our country a happy and prosperous one by completing the unfinished task of Bangabandhu. In this way we can pay our deep homage to this immortal son of the soil. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Bangabandhu, has set `Vision 2021' and successively `Vision 2041' in order to transform Bangladesh into a prosperous country in line with the dream of her father. Bangladesh is now on the verge of middle-income group country and I am confident that Bangladesh would be a developed one by the Diamond Jubilee celebration of our Independence.   

            On the National Mourning Day, let us translate our grief into strength and devote ourselves to build a prosperous Bangladesh.

Prime Minister’s Message on the National Mourning Day

            Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given the following message on the occasion of the National Mourning Day :     

"The 15^th August is the National Mourning Day. On this day in 1975, the greatest Bangalee of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, along with his family members, was assassinated in one of the most barbaric carnages in the human history.

Eighteen members of the family along with Bangabandhu’s wife Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, three sons Captain Sheikh Kamal, Lt. Sheikh Jamal and Sheikh Russel, two daughters-in-law Sultana Kamal and Rosy Jamal, brother Sheikh Naser, peasant leader Abdur Rab Serniabat, youth leader Sheikh Fazlul Haq Moni and his wife Arzu Moni, Baby Serniabat, Sukanta Babu, Arif and Abdul Nayeem Khan Rintu were killed on the fateful night. Bangabandhu’s Military Secretary Col. Jamil was killed. Some members of a family at Mohammadpur in the capital were also killed by artillery shells fired by the killers on the same day.

On this day, I pray to the Almighty Allah for the salvation of the souls of the martyrs of the 15^th August.

Under the dynamic, courageous and charismatic leadership of the Father of the Nation,  Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the people of this territory brought the glowing sun of the independence breaking the shackles of subjugation of thousands of years. The Bangalees have gotten their own nation-state, flag and national anthem.

But Bangabandhu was killed at a time when he had undertaken an arduous task of building a Golden Bangla reconstructing the war-ravaged country and unifying the whole nation. The defeated forces of the Liberation War made abortive attempts to ruin the tradition, culture and advancement of the Bangalee nation. Their target was to destroy the secular democratic fabric of Bangladesh.

The anti-liberation forces linked to the carnage initiated the politics of assassination, coup and conspiracy. The trial of Bangabandhu’s brutal assassination was blocked through promulgation of indemnity ordinance.

Ziaur Rahman usurped the state power and promulgated Martial Law suspending the constitution and overthrowing the people’s elected government. The killers of the Father of the Nation were rewarded and given jobs at the Bangladesh missions abroad. The anti-liberation elements were given nationality. They were made partners of the state power and rehabilitated politically and socially. The subsequent governments of BNP-Jamaat alliance had followed the same path.

The people of the country made Bangladesh Awami League victorious in the 29^th December general elections in 2008 to end the era of BNP-Jamaat regime’s killing, corruption and misrule and ensure country’s socio-economic development.

Overcoming the stagnancy left by the previous BNP-Jamaat government and global economic recession, we have put the country on firm economic footing. People again gave their mandate in favour of Awami League in the January 5 elections in 2014 to uphold the Constitution and continue the development spree. We have implemented huge development programmes during the last six and a half years in line with our election manifesto. We have already been graduated to a lower middle-income country. Our aim is to turn Bangladesh into a higher middle income country by 2021 and developed one by 2041.

We have executed the verdict of the Bangabandhu killing case. The trial of the killers of four national leaders has been completed. The trials of the war criminals and the 21^st August grenade attack cases are also progressing. We are committed to upholding democracy, constitution and rule of law. No conspiracy will be able to distract us from establishing the truth and justice.

The killers were able to assassin Bangababdhu but they could not erase his dreams and ideals. The ideals of Bangabandhu’s long struggle of sacrifice are implanted in the heart of Bangalee nation.

Let us engage ourselves to the task of materialising Bangabandhu’s dream of building a Golden Bangladesh turning into strength the grief of the great loss of the Father of the Nation. We must win the struggle to establish an economically solvent democratic and non-communal Bangladesh which will be totally free from hunger, illiteracy and poverty.

জাতীয় শোক দিবস উপলক্ষে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বাণী

    প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা জাতীয় শোক দিবস উপলক্ষে নিম্নোক্ত বাণী প্রদান করেছেন :

    ‘পনেরই আগস্ট জাতীয় শোক দিবস। ১৯৭৫ সালের এই দিনে মানব ইতিহাসের বর্বরতম হত্যাকা-ের শিকার হন সর্বকালের সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ বাঙালি, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান।
    ঘৃণ্য ঘাতকরা এই দিনে বঙ্গবন্ধুর সহধর্মিণী বঙ্গমাতা শেখ ফজিলাতুন নেছা মুজিব, পুত্র ক্যাপ্টেন শেখ কামাল, লেফটেন্যান্ট শেখ জামাল, ১০ বছরের শিশু স্কুলছাত্র শেখ রাসেল, পুত্রবধূ সুলতানা কামাল ও রোজী জামাল, বঙ্গবন্ধুর সহোদর শেখ নাসের, কৃষকনেতা আবদুর রব সেরনিয়াবাত, যুবনেতা শেখ ফজলুল হক মণি ও তাঁর অন্তঃসত্ত্বা স্ত্রী আরজু মণি, বেবী সেরনিয়াবাত, সুকান্ত বাবু, আরিফ, আব্দুল নঈম খান রিন্টুসহ পরিবারের ১৮ জন সদস্যকেও হত্যা করে। বঙ্গবন্ধুর সামরিক সচিব কর্নেল জামিলও নিহত হন। ঘাতকদের কামানের গোলার আঘাতে মোহাম¥দপুরে একটি পরিবারের বেশ কয়েকজন হতাহত হন এদিন।
    জাতীয় শোক দিবসে আমি মহান আল্লাহ তায়ালার দরবারে জাতির পিতাসহ সেদিনের সকল শহিদের রূহের মাগফিরাত কামনা করছি।
    জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের দূরদর্শী, সাহসী এবং ঐন্দ্রজালিক নেতৃত্বে বাঙালি জাতি পরাধীনতার শৃঙ্খল ভেঙে ছিনিয়ে এনেছিল স¦াধীনতার রক্তিম সূর্য। বাঙালি পেয়েছে স¦াধীন রাষ্ট্র, নিজস¦ পতাকা ও জাতীয় সংগীত।
    যুদ্ধবিধ্বস্ত দেশে বঙ্গবন্ধু যখন সমগ্র জাতিকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ করে সোনার বাংলা গড়ার সংগ্রামে নিয়োজিত, তখনই স¦াধীনতাবিরোধী-যুদ্ধাপরাধী চক্র জাতির পিতাকে হত্যা করে। এর মধ্য দিয়ে তারা বাঙালির ঐতিহ্য, সংস্কৃতি, কৃষ্টি ও অগ্রযাত্রাকে স্তব্ধ করার অপপ্রয়াস চালায়। অসাম্প্রদায়িক গণতান্ত্রিক বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্রকাঠামোকে ভেঙে ফেলাই ছিল তাদের মূল লক্ষ্য।
    পঁচাত্তরের ১৫ আগস্টের পর থেকেই এই জঘন্য হত্যাকা-ের সঙ্গে জড়িত স¦াধীনতাবিরোধী চক্র হত্যা, ক্যু ও ষড়যন্ত্রের রাজনীতি শুরু করে। ইনডেমনিটি অর্ডিনেন্স জারী করে বঙ্গবন্ধু হত্যার বিচারের পথ বন্ধ করে দেয়।
    জিয়াউর রহমান অবৈধভাবে ক্ষমতা দখল করে। মার্শাল ল’ জারীর মাধ্যমে গণতন্ত্রকে হত্যা করে। সংবিধানকে ক্ষত-বিক্ষত করে। বঙ্গবন্ধুর হত্যাকারীদের পুরস্কৃত করে। দূতাবাসে চাকুরি দেয়। স¦াধীনতাবিরোধী-যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের নাগরিকত্ব দেয়। রাষ্ট্রক্ষমতার অংশীদার করে। রাজনৈতিক ও সামাজিকভাবে পুনর্বাসিত করে। পরবর্তী বিএনপি-জামায়াত সরকারও একই পথ অনুসরণ করে।
    বিএনপি-জামায়াত জোট সরকারের খুন, হত্যা, দুর্নীতি এবং তত্ত্বাবধায়ক সরকারের দুঃশাসনের অবসান ঘটিয়ে দেশের জনগণ ২০০৮ সালের ২৯ ডিসেম্বর সাধারণ নির্বাচনে আওয়ামী লীগকে বিপুল ভোটে বিজয়ী করে। রাষ্ট্র পরিচালনার দায়িত্ব নিয়ে পূর্ববর্তী সরকারগুলোর রেখে যাওয়া অচলাবস্থা এবং বিশ্বমন্দা কাটিয়ে আমরা ২০০৯-২০১৩ মেয়াদে দেশকে দৃঢ় অর্থনৈতিক ভিত্তির ওপর দাঁড় করাই। উন্নয়নের এই ধারাবাহিকতা ও সংবিধানকে সমুন্নত রাখতে দেশের জনগণ ২০১৪ সালের ৫ জানুয়ারির নির্বাচনে পুনরায় আমাদের বিজয়ী করে। নির্বাচনি ইশতেহার অনুযায়ী গত সাড়ে ছয় বছর আমরা দেশের উন্নয়নে ব্যাপক কর্মসূচি বাস্তবায়ন করেছি। ইতোমধ্যে আমরা নি¤œ মধ্যআয়ের দেশে উন্নীত হয়েছি। আমাদের লক্ষ্য ২০২১ সালের আগেই বাংলাদেশকে উচ্চ মধ্যমআয়ের দেশ এবং ২০৪১ সালে উন্নত-সমৃদ্ধ দেশে পরিণত করা।
    আমরা সপরিবারে জাতির পিতার হত্যার বিচারের রায় কার্যকর করেছি। জাতীয় চার নেতা হত্যার বিচার সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। একাত্তরের যুদ্ধাপরাধী-মানবতাবিরোধীদের বিচারের রায় কার্যকর হচ্ছে। ২১শে আগস্ট গ্রেনেড হামলাকারীদের বিচারকাজ চলছে। আমরা গণতন্ত্র ও আইনের শাসনকে সমুন্নত রেখেছি। কোনো ষড়যন্ত্রই আমাদের সত্য ও ন্যায় প্রতিষ্ঠা থেকে বিচ্যুত করতে পারবে না।
    ঘাতকচক্র বঙ্গবন্ধুকে হত্যা করলেও তাঁর স¦প্ন ও আদর্শের মৃত্যু ঘটাতে পারেনি। বঙ্গবন্ধুর ত্যাগ ও তিতিক্ষার দীর্ঘ সংগ্রামী জীবনাদর্শ বাঙালি জাতির অন্তরে প্রোথিত হয়ে আছে।
    আসুন, আমরা জাতির পিতাকে হারানোর শোককে শক্তিতে পরিণত করে তাঁর স¦প্ন সোনার বাংলা প্রতিষ্ঠায় আত্মনিয়োগ করি। ক্ষুধামুক্ত, দারিদ্র্যমুক্ত, শান্তিপূর্ণ, সমৃদ্ধ, অসাম্প্রদায়িক বাংলাদেশ প্রতিষ্ঠার এ সংগ্রামে আমাদের অবশ্যই জয়ী হতে হবে।

রাষ্ট্রপতি মোঃ আবদুল হামিদ জাতীয় শোক দিবস উপলক্ষে নিম্নোক্ত বাণী প্রদান করেছেন :   
    “১৫ আগস্ট জাতীয় শোক দিবস। আজ জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের ৪০তম শাহাদতবার্ষিকী। ১৯৭৫ সালের এ দিনে সর্বকালের সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ বাঙালি জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান, তাঁর স্ত্রী, পুত্র, পুত্রবধূসহ নিকট আত্মীয়গণ শাহাদতবরণ করেন। আমি শোকাহত চিত্তে তাঁদের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা জানাই। জাতীয় শোক দিবসে পরম করুণাময় আল্লাহর দরবারে সেদিনের সকল শহিদের আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করছি।
    গণতান্ত্রিক অগ্রযাত্রা ও বাঙালি জাতির ইতিহাসে ১৫ আগস্ট ১৯৭৫ এক বেদনাবিধুর ও কলঙ্কজনক অধ্যায়। দেশের স্বাধীনতাবিরোধী ষড়যন্ত্রকারীদের প্রত্যক্ষ ও পরোক্ষ মদদে ঘাতকচক্রের হাতে ধানমন্ডির নিজ বাসভবনে বাঙালি জাতির অবিসংবাদিত নেতা জাতির পিতা শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান শহিদ হন। একইসাথে শহিদ হন বঙ্গবন্ধুর সহধর্মিণী শেখ ফজিলাতুন নেছা মুজিব, পুত্র শেখ কামাল, শেখ জামাল, শিশুপুত্র শেখ রাসেল, পুত্রবধূ সুলতানা কামাল ও রোজী জামাল, সহোদর শেখ নাসের, কৃষকনেতা আবদুর রব সেরনিয়াবাত, যুবনেতা শেখ ফজলুল হক মনি ও তাঁর অন্তঃসত্ত্বা স্ত্রী আরজু মনি, বেবী সেরনিয়াবাত, সুকান্ত বাবু, আরিফ, আব্দুল নঈম খান রিন্টু। এ ঘটনা কেবল বাঙালির ইতিহাসে নয়, পৃথিবীর ইতিহাসেও বিরল। শুধুমাত্র একজন রাষ্ট্রনায়ককে হত্যা করা নয় বরং মুক্তিযুদ্ধের আদর্শকে মুছে ফেলা এবং পরাজিত শক্তিকে পুনঃপ্রতিষ্ঠিত করাই ছিল হত্যাকারীদের উদ্দেশ্য।
    আমাদের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রাম এবং স্বাধীনতা অর্জনে বঙ্গবন্ধুর অবদান অপরিসীম। তাঁরই নেতৃত্বে বাঙালি জাতি অর্জন করে বহু কাক্সিক্ষত স্বাধীনতা। এ মহান নেতার চিন্তাচেতনায় সবসময় কাজ করত বাংলা, বাঙালি ও বাংলাদেশ। তিনি ছিলেন বাঙালি জাতির স্বপ্নদ্রষ্টা এবং বাঙালি জাতীয়তাবাদের প্রবক্তা। ১৯৫২ এর ভাষা আন্দোলন, ’৫৪ এর যুক্তফ্রন্ট নির্বাচন, ’৫৮ এর সামরিক শাসনবিরোধী আন্দোলন, ’৬৬ এর ৬-দফা, ’৬৯-এর গণঅভ্যুত্থান, ’৭০-এর নির্বাচনসহ বাঙালির মুক্তি ও অধিকার আদায়ে পরিচালিত প্রতিটি গণতান্ত্রিক ও স্বাধিকার আন্দোলনে তিনি নেতৃত্ব দেন। এজন্য তাঁকে জীবনে বহুবার কারাবরণ করতে হয়েছে; সহ্য করতে হয়েছে অমানবিক নির্যাতন। বাঙালির অধিকারের প্রশ্নে তিনি কখনো আপোশ করেননি। নানা চড়াই-উৎরাই পেরিয়ে তিনি ১৯৭১ সালের ২৬ মার্চ স্বাধীনতার ঘোষণা দেন। তাঁর আহ্বানে সাড়া দিয়ে এ দেশের আপামর জনগণ মহান স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ে এবং ন’মাস সশস্ত্র মুক্তিযুদ্ধের মাধ্যমে অর্জন করে বহু কাক্সিক্ষত স্বাধীন-সার্বভৌম বাংলাদেশ। তাঁর অসামান্য অবদানের জন্য আজ এ দেশের মানুষের কাছে বঙ্গবন্ধু ও বাংলাদেশ এক ও অভিন্ন সত্তায় পরিণত হয়েছে। ঘাতকচক্র জাতির পিতাকে হত্যা করলেও তাঁর আদর্শ ও নীতিকে নিঃশেষ করতে পারেনি। যতদিন এ দেশ ও জনগণ থাকবে ততদিন জাতির পিতার নাম এ দেশের লাখো-কোটি বাঙালির অন্তরে চির অমলিন, অক্ষয় হয়ে থাকবে।
    জাতির পিতার সারাজীবনের স্বপ্ন ছিল দেশকে ‘সোনার বাংলা’য় পরিণত করা। আমাদের দায়িত্ব হবে বঙ্গবন্ধুর অসম্পূর্ণ কাজকে সম্পূর্ণ করে দেশকে একটি সুখী ও সমৃদ্ধ দেশে পরিণত করে তাঁর সেই স্বপ্ন পূরণ করা। তাহলেই আমরা চিরঞ্জীবী এই মহান নেতার প্রতি যথাযথ সম্মান প্রদর্শন করতে পারব। বঙ্গবন্ধু কন্যা প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বাংলাদেশকে সমৃদ্ধ দেশে পরিণত করতে ‘ভিশন ২০২১’ এবং এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় ‘ভিশন ২০৪১’ ঘোষণা করেছেন। বাংলাদেশ আজ মধ্যআয়ের দেশে পরিণত হতে চলেছে। আমার দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস স্বাধীনতার হীরকজয়ন্তীতে বাংলাদেশ বিশ্বে উন্নত-সমৃদ্ধ দেশে পরিণত হবে। তাই আসুন, জাতীয় শোক দিবসে আমরা জাতির পিতাকে হারানোর শোককে শক্তিতে রূপান্তর করি এবং দেশ গঠনে আত্মনিয়োগ করি।
