৫৭ প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ২ লাখ ৪৩ হাজার টাকা জরিমানা

    জাতীয় ভোক্তা অধিকার সংরক্ষণ অধিদপ্তরের বিভাগীয় ও জেলা কার্যালয় গতকাল নরসিংদী, চট্টগ্রাম, বাগেরহাট, পঞ্চগড়, যশোর, ময়মনসিংহ, সুনামগঞ্জ, নারায়ণগঞ্জ, হবিগঞ্জ, টাঙ্গাইল, বরিশাল, ঝালকাঠি, রংপুর, নওগাঁ, মাদারীপুর ও পটুয়াখালীতে বাজার তদারকি করে। তদারকিকালে ভোক্তা অধিকার সংরক্ষণ আইন লঙ্ঘনের দায়ে ৫৭টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ২ লাখ ৪৩ হাজার টাকা জরিমানা করা হয়।
    অস্বাস্থ্যকর পরিবেশে খাদ্যপণ্য তৈরি, পণ্যের মোড়কে এমআরপি লেখা না থাকা, পণ্যের মূল্য তালিকা প্রদর্শন না করা, খাদ্য পণ্যে নিষিদ্ধ দ্রব্যের মিশ্রণ, মেয়াদোত্তীর্ণ পণ্য বিক্রয়, ধার্যকৃত মূল্যের অধিক মূল্যে পণ্য বিক্রয়ের অপরাধে নরসিংদী সদর উপজেলায় ২টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ২০ হাজার টাকা, চট্টগ্রাম মহানগরের ডাবলমুরিং থানা এলাকায় ৩টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ২২ হাজার টাকা, চট্টগ্রামের সদরঘাট থানা এলাকায় ২টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৩০ হাজার টাকা, বাগেরহাট সদর উপজেলায় ৫টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৯ হাজার ৫শ’ টাকা, পঞ্চগড়ের তেঁতুলিয়া উপজেলায় ৫টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ১৮ হাজার টাকা, যশোর সদর উপজেলায় ৩টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৫ হাজার ৫শ’ টাকা, ময়মনসিংহ সদর উপজেলায় ৪টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ২৫ হাজার টাকা, নরসিংদী সদর উপজেলায় ২টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ১৭ হাজার টাকা, সুনামগঞ্জ সদর উপজেলায় ৩টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৩৫ হাজার টাকা, নারায়ণগঞ্জের রূপগঞ্জ উপজেলায় ৪টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৯ হাজার টাকা, হবিগঞ্জের বাহুবল উপজেলায় ৩টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৭ হাজার টাকা, টাঙ্গাইলের দেলদুয়ার উপজেলায় ২টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ২ হাজার টাকা, বরিশালের উজিরপুর উপজেলায় ৬টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৯ হাজার ৫শ’ টাকা, ঝালকাঠির রাজাপুর উপজেলায় ১টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ১ হাজার টাকা, রংপুর সদর উপজেলায় ১টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৪ হাজার টাকা, রংপুর সদর উপজেলায় ১টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৮ হাজার টাকা, নওগাঁ সদর উপজেলায় ২টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৪ হাজার ৫শ’টাকা, মাদারীপুর সদর উপজেলায় ৩টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৮ হাজার টাকা এবং পটুয়াখালীর গলাচিপা উপজেলায় ৫টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ৮ হাজার) টাকা জরিমানা করা হয়।

সমবায়ীদের ৪২৫ কোটি টাকা সুদ মওকুফ

বর্তমান সমবায়বান্ধব সরকার ১৩৫ কোটি টাকার কৃষিঋণের সুদসহ বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ের সমবায়ীদের ৪২৫ কোটি টাকা সুদ মওকুফ করেছে। এতে করে প্রায় ৫ লাখ সমবায়ী উপকৃত হয়েছেন।

আজ ঢাকায় দিলকুশা সমবায় ফেডারেশন ভবনে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় পল্লি উন্নয়ন সমবায় ফেডারেশনের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিষদ আয়োজিত এক আলোচনাসভায় এ তথ্য প্রকাশ করা হয়।

ফেডারেশনের সভাপতি মো. ইসরাফিল আলমের সভাপতিত্বে এতে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে এলজিআরডি ও সমবায় প্রতিমন্ত্রী মো. মসিউর রহমান রাঙ্গা বক্তব্য রাখেন। অন্যান্যের মধ্যে আলোচনায় অংশ নেন বিআরডিবি’র মহাপরিচালক মো. আবদুল কাইয়ুম ও ফেডারেশনের সহসভাপতি খন্দকার বিপ্লব মাহমুদ উজ্জ্বল।

প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেন, দেশের সার্বিক গ্রাম উন্নয়ন কর্মসূচি গতিশীল ও দেড় কোটি কৃষক সমবায়ীর জীবনমান উন্নয়নে আবর্তক ঋণখাতে ৩০০ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ দেয়ার উদ্যোগ নেয়া হবে। ৪৭৭টি উপজেলা কেন্দ্রীয় সমবায় সমিতির (ইউসিসিএ) মিলনায়তনগুলো আধুনিকায়ন করা হবে। তিনি বলেন, পল্লি উন্নয়ন ও সমবায় বিভাগ হতে ইতোমধ্যে ইউসিসিএ’র কর্মচারীদের  বেতনভাতার শতকরা ৭০ ভাগ প্রদানের জন্য অর্থ মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাধ্যমে প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হয়েছে।

প্রতিমন্ত্রী আরো বলেন, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান দরিদ্র, ক্ষুদ্র, প্রান্তিক ও মাঝারি শ্রেণির কৃষকদের ভাগ্যোন্নয়নে সমবায় খাতকে বিকশিত করেন। তাঁরই সুযোগ্য কন্যা প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা দারিদ্র্যশূন্য ও ক্ষুধামুক্ত বাংলাদেশ গড়তে একটি বাড়ি একটি খামার প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়ন করছেন।

প্রতিমন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় পল্লি উন্নয়ন সমবায় ফেডারেশনের ১০ দফা দাবি বাস্তবায়নে প্রয়োজনীয় সহযোগিতার আশ্বাস দেন।

Consultations between Bangladesh and Greece held

Dhaka, October 24 :

            Political Consultations between Bangladesh and Greece was held at the State Guest House Meghna in Dhaka yesterday. Bangladesh side was led by Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque and Greek side was led by Ambassador Dimitrios Paraskevopoulous, Secretary General (Foreign Secretary) of the Hellenic Republic (Greece). The second Political Consultations between the two countries took place, six years after the first one which was held in Athens in April 2010. Bangladesh Ambassador to Greece Md. Jashim Uddin and Greek Ambassador to Bangladesh Panos Kalogeropoulos, among others, were present during the meeting.  

          The meeting discussed the whole range of bilateral relations including exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual interests. Both sides agreed to work together to deepen and widen areas of cooperation between the two countries.

          Bangladesh Foreign Secretary apprised his Greek counterpart about the sustained economic growth in Bangladesh, including global acclamation for our socio-economic progress under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In that context, Foreign Secretary Haque invited Greek businesses to seize the opportunity to explore investment potentials in Bangladesh, a growing hub of economic activities in the region. He also requested the Greek side to consider increasing import of Bangladeshi goods. The Greek Secretary General expressed interest about enhanced economic collaboration in agriculture, infrastructure/construction and shipping sectors. Besides, the meeting also exchanged views on how to make attestation of documents easier for Bangladeshi expatriates living in Greece. Both sides also agreed to work together to organize high level visits in the near future.

          The Foreign Secretary also briefed his counterpart on the relations of Bangladesh with its neighboring countries. The meeting also exchanged views on regional and international issues, particularly the on-going refugee and migration crisis in Europe. In that context, the Foreign Secretary briefed his Greek counterpart about the preparation for the 9^th Global Forum for Migration and Development (GFMD) to be held in Dhaka in December 2016. The Greek Secretary General assured to send a high level delegation to participate in the GFMD in Dhaka.

            Earlier, the Greek Secretary General called on the State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam at his office and exchanged views about the ways and means for further strengthening and consolidating ties between the two countries, particularly for enhanced trade and investment. Expressing his satisfaction at the 2^nd Political Consultations between the two countries, State Minister Alam encouraged the Secretary General to open a new Greek embassy in Dhaka at the earliest with a view to facilitate enhanced people-to-people contact, as it would boost bilateral relations in economic, cultural, educational and related spheres.

          The Greek Foreign Secretary also paid a visit to the Language Martyrs Monument and a Greek installation inside the Dhaka University. He also gave a talk on “Migration and Security” at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS).

যন্ত্রপাতি ক্রয়ে স¦চ্ছতা নিশ্চিত করার সুপারিশ সংসদীয় কমিটির

    দশম জাতীয় সংসদের তথ্য মন্ত্রণালয় সম্পর্কিত স্থায়ী কমিটির ১৮তম বৈঠক আজ জাতীয় সংসদভবনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। কমিটির সভাপতি এ কে এম রহমতুল্লাহ্ বৈঠকে সভাপতিত্ব করেন। বৈঠকে কমিটির সদস্য তথ্যমন্ত্রী হাসানুল হক ইনু, সিমিন হোসেন রিমি, সাইমুম সরওয়ার কমল ও সুকুমার রঞ্জন ঘোষ অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

    বৈঠকে বাংলাদেশ  চলচ্চিত্র উন্নয়ন কর্পোরেশন (বিএফডিসি)’র জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় যন্ত্রপাতি  ক্রয়ের ক্ষেত্রে আন্তর্জাতিক মানসম্পন্ন কোম্পানিগুলোর প্রডাক্টকে অগ্রাধিকার দেয়ার সুপারিশ করা হয়। বৈঠকে বলা হয়, মানসম্পন্ন কোম্পানির প্রডাক্টের গুণগত মান ভালো থাকে এবং সেবাও ভালো পাওয়া যায়।

    কমিটি বিএফডিসির জন্য যন্ত্রপাতি ক্রয়ের কাজগুলোতে যথাযথ স্বচ্ছতা ও জবাবদিহিতা  নিশ্চিত  করার সুপারিশ করে। এছাড়াও কমিটি বৈদেশিক প্রশিক্ষণে অর্জিত অভিজ্ঞতা দেশের কাজে লাগানোর জন্য এবং অপ্রয়োজনীয় বিদেশ ভ্রমণ পরিহার করার সুপারিশ করে। কমিটি আন্তর্জাতিক পরিম-লে প্রতিযোগিতায় টিকে থাকতে বিএফডিসিকে আধুনিক ও গতিশীল প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে গড়ে তুলতে কর্মকর্তাদের আন্তরিকভাবে কাজ করার সুপারিশ করে।

    বৈঠকে বিএফডিসি প্রাঙ্গণ দৃষ্টিনন্দন ও আকর্ষণীয় করে তোলার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় পদক্ষেপ নেয়ার সুপারিশ করা হয়।

           বৈঠকে তথ্য সচিব মরতুজা আহমেদ, প্রধান তথ্য অফিসার এ কে এম শামীম চৌধুরী এবং মন্ত্রণালয় ও সংসদ সচিবালয়ের সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

    বাংলাদেশ কলেজ অভ্ ফিজিশিয়ান্স এন্ড সার্জনস (বিসিপিএস)-এর ১৩তম সমাবর্তন অনুষ্ঠান আগামী ২৬শে অক্টোবর বুধবার সকাল ১০টা ৩০ মিনিটে ঢাকায় ফার্মগেটে কৃষিবিদ ইনস্টিটিউশনে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।
    সমাবর্তন অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন।
    অনুষ্ঠানটি বাংলাদেশ বেতার ঢাকা কেন্দ্র বিটিসিএল লাইনের মাধ্যমে ঢাকা-ক ৬৯৩ কিলোহার্জে ও এফএম ১০৩.২ মেগাহার্জে সরাসরি সম্প্রচার করবে।

Azmal Kabir appointed Ambassador to Indonesia

Dhaka, 24^th October :

            The Government has decided to appoint Major General Azmal Kabir as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia.

            Major General Azmal Kabir was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers on 10 June 1983. In his long illustrated career, he served as the Instructor, Engineer Center and School of Military Engineering and School of Infantry and Tactics. He commanded 10 Riverine Engineer Battalion and 98 Composite Brigade at Bangabandhu Bridge. He also served as the Commandant, Bangladesh Ordnance Factories, Gazipur and as the Chairman of Bangladesh Tea Board. He served three UN missions in Bosnia-Herzegovina, East Timor and Liberia.

            Azmal Kabir graduated from Bangladesh Military Academy under Chittagong University and completed his BSc in Civil Engineering from BUET. 

            He is married and blessed with a daughter and a son.
